A few simple steps to get the very best from your CADDO candle
Candle Care & Safety
At CADDO, your safety and enjoyment are important to us. Please follow the guidance below to get the best from your candle and to help it burn safely and evenly. Candle safety advice commonly includes keeping candles within sight, away from drafts and flammable items, and out of reach of children and pets.
Always burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Keep candles away from curtains, paper, furniture, pets, and children.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Avoid drafts, vents, and fans, as these can cause uneven burning and excess smoke.
Trim the wick to around 5 mm before each burn.
Let the candle burn long enough on the first use to form a full melt pool across the top.
Do not burn for more than 3 hours at a time.
Stop using the candle when around 5 mm of wax remains.
Do not move a candle while it is lit or while the wax is still liquid.
Use a snuffer if possible to extinguish the flame safely.
Burning Tips:
For the best burn, allow the wax pool to reach the edges of the vessel on the first burn, which helps prevent tunnelling. Trimming the wick before each use helps keep the flame steady and reduces smoking or sooting.
If the flame becomes too high, flickers repeatedly, or smokes, extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick, and check for drafts before relighting. Burning candles too long can make the container hot and increase the risk of damage.
Important Warning
Never burn a candle near anything that can catch fire, and never use water to put out a candle. Keep wax, matches, and wick trimmings out of the melt pool, and discontinue use before the candle reaches the very bottom of the container.
